The Dark Knight Rises is due to arrive in cinemas on July 20, so we've trawled through the gaming archives to hunt down the Caped Crusader's best and worst gaming performances. Some gave him a starring role, while others see him appearing alongside other heroes in roles he'd rather forget.

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City

These two games, combined with the excellent Christopher Nolan Dark Knight movies, have more or less been responsible for Batman's return to glory. No other game made you feel like Batman in the way Arkham Asylum managed, and Arkham City took things to another level with a superb open city to explore and tons of side missions to take part in.
