
Lifetime sales of the Nintendo 3DS have now hit 15 million units worldwide, Nintendo has announced.
This means the 3DS has reached the new sales milestone faster than both the Nintendo DS and Wii. 3DS software sales stand at 28.04 million units, which creates an attach rate of under two games per 3DS sold.
Elsewhere, DS sold 4.64 million units during the nine months ending December 31, while 51.2 million games were shifted. Wii hardware sales hit 8.96 million units for the nine months, while 89.06 million Wii games were also sold.
In other news, Nintendo announced that the Wii U will be released this holiday season in the US, Europe, Japan and Australia.
