Call of Duty: Elite iOS app out now; Android next week

10/01/2012 - 9:59am GMT

Activision has released the delayed Call of Duty: Elite iOS app on the iTunes App Store, and has promised the Android app will follow suit next week.

The free Elite app allows you to track your custom classes, recent matches, challenges and friends. You can also fiddle with your loadouts and push the changes straight into Modern Warfare 3. It will work on an iPad but does not natively support Apple's tablet device.

Intended to be functional alongside Modern Warfare 3's release in November, Call of Duty: Elite suffered from a problematic launch that left the service intermittent and caused Activision to offer compensation for paying customers affected by the wonky start.

On that note, Elite developer Beachhead Studios says the service has officially been straightened out.

"The issues associated with the heavy load are behind us. The service is operational and lots of people are using it every day," said studio head Chako Sonny to Venturebeat.
