Capcom's Dragon's Dogma has gone some way to justify its large development budget by shifting over 300,000 copies at launch in Japan.
The PS3 version charted at No.1 with 302,040 copies, whilst the Xbox 360 version shifted 29,024 copies, making Dragon's Dogma the most successful new IP launch in Japan this console generation.
Elsewhere Mario Tennis Open for 3DS sold 101,645 copies, enough to secure second place in the chart.
Hardware sales were largely unchanged, with 3DS up to 55,212 units, PS3 climbing to 14,771 units and PS Vita up to 6,675 units. Xbox 360 also seemed to benefit from Dragon's Dogma, selling 3,069 units.
